The Langport Surgery is situated on North Street. The modern purpose-built building has an unusual dodecagon shaped design and the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. The practice serves approximately14,000 patients living in 20 rural parishes as well as several residential/nursing homes and special needs establishments.
The practice has seven partners (six GPs and one business manager), four salaried GPs, three nurse practitioners, two paramedics, a pharmacist and pharmacy technician, two first contact Musculo-skeletal practitioners, an occupational therapist, mental health practitioner, a highly skilled nursing and healthcare assistant team, plus a full admin support team as well as its own dispensary. Langport Surgery is also a training practice mentoring newly qualified doctors and supporting their training. ‘In house' services include clinics for asthma, diabetes, coronary heart disease, antenatal, family planning, healthy lifestyle and travel vaccination advice.
The Friends of Langport Surgery Patient Participation Group was set up in 2010. The group works in cooperation with the practice to allow free sharing of suggestions, information and requirements and to provide feedback from both the patients and the practice.
