The Langport Surgery is situated on North Street almost opposite the Langport Post Office. The modern purpose-built building has an unusual dodecagon shaped design and the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. The practice serves approximately 12,200 patients living in 20 rural parishes as well as several residential/nursing homes and special needs establishments.
The practice has five partners, an associate GP, two nurse practitioners, highly skilled nurses and a full support team as well as its own dispensary. Langport Surgery is also a training practice mentoring newly qualified doctors and supporting their training. Visiting health professionals provide specialist treatment including podiatry, physiotherapy, dietary and counselling services. 'In house' services include clinics for asthma, diabetes, coronary heart disease, antenatal, family planning, healthy lifestyle, minor surgery, immunisation and travel vaccination advice.
The Friends of Langport Surgery Patient Participation Group was set up in 2010. The group works in cooperation with the practice to allow free sharing of suggestions, information and requirements and to provide feedback from both the patients and the practice.
