Speed Indicator Device (SID) data collection.
I am sure that you all have seen HEPC’s SID recording the speeds of vehicles at the various sites throughout our parish. We have been doing this with a very small team of volunteers for the last four years. Unfortunately one of our team is moving house to Dorset so last Sunday was the last time he could help with the SID moving to another location. By law we cannot have our SID operating in the same location for more than 14 consecutive days.
Our SID has proved to be very effective, definitely slows the traffic down and has proved that the vast amount of drivers at all locations drive below the fixed penalty limit. About five percent don’t but those drivers are mainly doing so during very late evening or early morning.
Can you spare a Sunday afternoon for an hour or so no more than twice a month? This is an appeal for at least another two people willing to be trained to join our existing team of volunteers. If you have any questions or would be willing to volunteer to do this important job for our community please email, john.wood@huishepiscopi-pc.gov.uk. Thank you.
