LANGPORT & DISTRICT HISTORY SOCIETY
Registered Charity No. 1179718
02.07.2021 ( Please note latest 'readmore' article below - launch of a new website)
Due to the pandemic most of our activities have been suspended. What follows is a description of what we do in normal times.
We organise a programme of talks and visits, collect local photographs, research aspects of local history and produce publications of local interest. Visiting speakers are invited to give illustrated talks on subjects of historical interest, either about the local area or more generally. Our talks are held at 7.30pm on the first Monday of the month, excepting Bank Holidays, when we meet a week later. There are no meetings in July and August. Talks are free to members. Non-members are very welcome, £4.00 per talk. Our venues are subject to change, so please check our website for details of forthcoming events. Membership costs £15 per annum, which includes all talks and a copy of Level Talk, our annual compilation of local history articles. Contact us via our website https://langportheritage.org.uk; email email@example.com, or phone 0792 146 1765.
Our aim is to advance education for the public benefit into the history of Langport and the surrounding areas. Anyone who supports this aim is welcome to become a member.
Annual membership of the Society is £15.00 per person. If you would like to join, please contact our Secretary, Sue Standen on 01458 273471 or firstname.lastname@example.org .
